Hi, I’m Dr Hannah Bailey-Thomas (she/they)

Hi, I’m Hannah (she/they), a non-binary, queer, late-diagnosed neurodivergent coach.

Before starting Beyond the Map, I spent over 15 years working as a GP in the UK, with a special interest in mental health and neurodivergence.

My own experience of being diagnosed as autistic in 2022, at the age of 40, and the process of unmasking that followed, is what led me to create this work.

Along the way, I explored different forms of inner healing, including body-based trauma approaches and parts work, and began to build a life that feels more aligned, even when that’s been messy, uncertain, and far from linear.

That journey included stepping away from clinical medicine and moving to a tiny cottage on a Hebridean island.

So when I invite you to step off the map with me, it comes from lived experience, not just theory. I’m not offering a perfect path, but a space to explore what might actually fit, even if it feels uncertain at first.

My Approach

I know how hard it can be to find support that actually understands the realities of being neurodivergent. Whether you are just starting to explore your unique way of engaging with the world, self-identifying or formally diagnosed, Beyond the Map is my way of offering a place where you can finally explore who you are at your own pace, without judgment, and start to shape a life that feels more like yours.

I’m trained and accredited as a transformational coach with Animas and working towards EMCC accreditation, which means I work to professional coaching standards while bringing my own lived experience into the session where invited and appropriate.

I don’t offer quick fixes, magic keys, or guru wisdom. What I do bring is radical acceptance, trauma awareness, knowledge, experience, and an ability (well-tested on myself) to hone in on what might be blocking genuine psychological transformation.
